Objectives
This site brings together the 2020 Election Predictionsmade by numerous experts in this area. It also extends these predictions using Monte Carlo simulation, to provide the electoral votes of the expected winner, and their change of success.
This site is absolutely non-partisan and focused only on election predictions. The site is educational, providing different methods and their rationale on this site. Links are also provided for every prediction.
Forecasters are not completely rigorous in election prediction as they try to subjectively evaluate how the electorate may vote. However, predictions can be rational, through an objective examination of collected data. One would always like to know who will win, yet as the expected margin of victory narrow, estimates lose their predictive powers.

My name is David Lord. I have years of experience in Monte Carlo simulation, beginning with my Master's thesis, in Operations Research. It seemed a very natural extension to use simulation to predict the 2020 elections. I worked for over 20 years in the oil and gas industry, and I am currently retired, so I have time to develop websites like this one. |
